Default Menzies And Dhuum - The Superteam

I have a theory:

It is almost certain know that Dhuum will be the main evil dude in NF, but what about Menzies?

Maybe these two gods (menzies might be a demi-god?) team up.

Perhaps a powerful sage of some kind summons the great and powerful Dhuum - who kills the Sage and trys to get his old army of the Grasps free from their bonds - when he realises he can't by himself he seeks the help of Menzies - and together they spread an evil like no other!

discuss?

May I enquire on the logic jump that brought you past the fact that Dhumm is dead?

nvm i wiki'ed who Dhuum is.

I have also noticed a similarity between this game and Lord of the Rings. In Lord of the Rings there is a Bridge called "The Bridge of Khazad Dum" And in the four horsemen quest yu have 4 horsemen coming and one is named "Kazhad Dhuum"

Coincidence? I think not.

Yes, that's a possible reference, as well as the Four Horsemen are a traditional symbol of the Apocalypse.

Oh, come on - when was the last time that stopped a ficticious character from being a major part of a hyped-up storyline?

Gee, no-one could ever think of a trumped-up way to resurrect the ex god of death!

Simple.Clearly Paragon's are devoted strongly to their gods, even the evil ones like Dhuum, and as we've seen in the PvP event, they can even have the power to represent their god.

So a Paragon Cult who worshiped Dhuum used an age old ritual to revive Dhuum by using a Paragon as a vessel. So there may be a tainted Paragon who has the ability to transform into the Avatar of Dhuum.

That would be the Dervishes...

Anyways...it could be Menzies. And Dhuum probably made it out alive somehow, and at the end of Nightfall you dont kill him, just force him out. He will be the Lex Luther of Guild Wars, or whatever other supervillan you can think of.

can't kill a god..... and even if Dhuum was "killed" by grenth, he would show up in the underworld or Fow, maybe as a spirit... but he was a bad, bad death god

Everyone thought Dracula was dead, but he always came back. What makes you think a God can't come back from death?

Destroyed does not mean dead. I know a few business men in real life who were destroyed. They are still alive and well just poor and ignored.

BTW Avarre usualy I agree with 90% of your posts however I disagree on this one. And keep up the good fight for all Mesmers everywhere.

Taken from Gwiki
"Before the time of Grenth, when death was ruled by a cruel and unjust god, there stood a tower and a throne on this very plain. But Grenth rose up and destroyed the one called Dhuum and shattered down his tower, leaving only these storms of chaos as a reminder of the power that once held dominion here. My vigil over these lands was broken for a time, and I can feel a resurgence of the old taint. Four horsemen approach, riders of Dhuum. Destroy them before they can reclaim this place and throw the underworld into chaos!"

Let's not forget Thulsa Doom either.

The story of Nightfall may well be to STOP Dhuum from reforming after being scattered by Grenth.

Do you think a battle that reduced part of the underworld to shattered sand and rifts of infernal light ended with a 'now run along, Dhumm!' from Grenth?!

The paragon/dervish vessel seems viable though. However, we still haven't had any proof, people just picked on the name
